This is the easiest bread recipe ever. We were motoring into Port Ludlow one afternoon with a pot of clam chowder simmering on the stove. I thought a loaf of bread would be a great addition, so as Rob puttered around and found a spot to drop the hook I ran downstairs, mixed it up and tossed it into the stove. By the time the anchor was set the cabin smelled of fresh warm bread. A perfect way to enjoy a beautiful Pacific Northwest anchorage like Port Ludlow. The leftovers are great the next morning as toast for breakfast.

Beer Bread

3 Cups all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 heaping tsp sugar
1 egg (optional)
1 can beer

Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in sugar and egg, then mix in beer. Do not overmix (don't lose the bubbles). Pour into lightly greased loaf pan. Bake on 350 about 40 minutes.
