Combine:
3 lb green cabbage, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 onions, chopped
1 cup sugar
Pour dressing over veggies and stir until well mixed. Store in a refrigerator or in a cool place in an air tight container. Let stand for three days. This will keep for a month in the refrigerator and 2 to 3 weeks without artificial cooling, depending on the climate. This is the original recipe, but I usually make only half the amounts of sugar and oil and vinegar. Then I rotate the container every few hours. And, we rarely wait 3 days to start eating it.
